to be evoked by the Orchid’s organic elation and a conjuring of elegance of the Thirties and
yet is not marked by the hands of time.
Hence this coffee table is suited to enhance your favorite sofa, or as a spacious night table.
Design Notes:
This piece reminds us of many styles, for example art Deco and/or art Nouveau, but under knowledgeable scrutiny fits into none.
Similarly, at first glance Orchid’s organic legs seem inspired on those of deers. Examined in detail they reveal themselves to be thoroughly modern.
The carved orchids on the skirt and top provide the table a surprising feminine touch. The orchids also become the visual support for the table’s oval glass top. The result?
a contemporary coffee/night table of such elusiveness its stylistic provenance remain a mystery.
Construction Notes:
The four corners of the skirt and its legs of the table are perfectly joined in a 45 degrees.
The frame is rectangular with an oval frame in its center which holds its central beveled glass. The piece has orchids carved in each of its four corners, in its skirt and in the body of the legs which are hollowed inside their thighs, which evidences its craftsmanship
of our master carvers.
