Victorian Garden Center Table
This table congers up many different feelings with its imagery. Like generosity
of its presence, patience in the design, and kindness in the details. A beautiful
and artistic eloquence of fine furnishings.
This is a great piece for your entry hall in a Home or Office. As well as a coffee table.
Design Notes:
Here the intent was to merge the animal and vegetable worlds
in one clearly artificial but yet organic object capable of
bringing a touch of nature into your favorite interior space.
The result initially takes your eye to the its robust gazelle inspired legs which support the table.
Then to the subtle rose bouquet carving at the intersection of the legs, skirt and table top.
The unexpected combination of plant beauty and animal power works surprisingly well making the piece a celebration of nature.
Once finished we found it reminiscent of XVIII century imperial splendor hence its name.
Construction Notes:
This table is one continuous hand-carved piece; i.e.,
there are no tactile joints between the top, the skirt and the legs.
To reveal the craftsmanship involved,
we did not blend and equalize the different shades of the wood used
in the assembled structure.
